Burgess Cellars Vertical Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting

Wines Tasted: Cabernet Sauvignon, Library Selection, *1982, 1987, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002

  • Plus a 1976 Petite Syrah

                   

  • All the wines were in pristine condition and all tasted well, even the very old vintages.      
  • My personal favorite was the 1987 Cab. Sauv.. I belive it was at it's peak now. The 1982 was a little tired and thin but still drinkable.
  • After the musty nose on the 1976 Petite Syrah blew off, you were left with lovely prune and rasin flavors.

  • The tasters included: Al & Sharon Decker, Laura Malloy, Michele Heaton, Francis & Cristina Rammaccotti, David & Allison Ritt-Rodgers, Kathy Brewster, Chris Scheid, Doug Breuneger, John Arters, Dick Demchak, Harry Kissig and of course Valerie and myself.
