Barolo Tasting

It's been three years since the last one. So, I guess we are due for another one.

As usual tasting will be held at my house.   Tasting will be limited to 14 persons.

Cost:$80. Due May 1st.   Date: Sat., May 12th.   Time: 2pm

Barolo - A 100% pure varietal wine, made with the indigenous Nebbiolo grape. Grown only within a small swath of hilly terrain, in Piedmont, northern Italy. Nebbiolo is tougher to grow than Pinot Noir.

          Several are single vineyard and several are from the prestigious Brunate area.

The winners: #1, 1996 Gaja Sperss   #2, 2001 Corina Arborina   #3, 2006 Pio Cesare - The loser 2004 Marcarini Brunate   The 2004 Bricco Roche needs another 10 years. Once again everyone prefered the old style Barolo.
